This issue of WSQ seeks to build upon and continue conversations begun in the earlier issues Engage (2013) and Solidarity (2014) about the nature of collective action. Investigating recent activist movements—for example, the Women’s March or the #MeToo movement—feminist theorists reflect on long-standing debates about the legacy, assumptions, and complications of coming together.

Ujju Aggarwal is an assistant professor of anthropology and experiential learning in the Schools of Public Engagement and an affiliate faculty member in the Department of Anthropology at the New School. Her research examines questions related to public infrastructures, urban space, racial capitalism, rights, gender, and the state.
Linta Varghese is an assistant professor at the Center for Ethnic Studies at the Borough of Manhattan Community College, CUNY. Her areas of research include the South Asian diaspora in the United States, gender and labor, specifically paid domestic work, and transnational Asian financial flows.
Rupal Oza is an associate professor in the Department of Women and Gender Studies at Hunter College, CUNY. Her work focuses on political economic transformations in the Global South, the geography of right-wing politics, and the conjuncture between gender, violence, and political economy.
