Our brains are a thousand times more incredible than anything else we will ever encounter. Every great accomplishment human beings have achieved was the work of the brain. In fact, our brains possess infinite potential that allows us to do and be anything. By using this potential well, we become a "Power Brain" that can not only create our personal fate, but that of the entire planet.
To develop our brains' potential, it's useful to liken the brain to a computer with an operating system. We have a Brain Operating System (BOS) composed of our beliefs and preconceptions that we can change and upgrade until our brains run optimally.
Recognizing the potential in our brain beyond what we've been able to use so far, Ilchi Lee began investigating brain development principles and methods. He compiled them into a comprehensive self-development system with five steps called Brain Education. Refined over the years by new scientific research and the experiences of those who use it, Brain Education has become an academic discipline that's presented in a variety of ways, including school educational programs and corporate training.
While The Power Brain is primarily about the brain, this book does not focus on the anatomical or neuro-physiological functions of the brain. Rather, it serves as a Brain Operating System user's manual that describes how to use our brain to discover our value, recreate the story of our lives, and claim a new destiny. Improving our lives, and consequently, our world, through brain development is a skill that anyone can understand, practice, and apply to everyday life.

ILCHI LEE is an impassioned visionary, educator, mentor, and innovator; he has dedicated his life to developing and teaching methods to nurture the full potential of the human brain, particularly Body & Brain Yoga and Brain Education. Author of 39 books, including the New York Times bestseller, "The Call of Sedona," he is also a well-respected humanitarian who has been working with the United Nations and other organizations for global peace. He serves as president of the Korea Institute of Brain Science (KIBS), the University of Brain Education (UBE), the Global Cyber University, and IBREA.
But as a comprehensive educational system, Brain Education's ultimate goal is to create what I call a Power Brain–a productive, creative, and peaceful brain. A productive brain is realistic and responsible. It uses focus and drive to achieve worthy goals, and it uses time and resources efficiently. Through self-management and self-administration, it's able to complete the goals it has selected for itself. ... You're probably hard-working and responsible. Yet most people complain that they have difficulty focusing, or maybe they procrastinate or spend too much time on the Internet. Can you imagine how much more productive you'd be if you mastered the art of concentration? It's not surprising that in today's world, we have a hard time focusing. We're inundated with information, so we constantly have distraction buzzing around us. The exercises of Brain Education are designed to help you get control of your brain so you can focus on moving toward whatever it is you want to be in the world. Creativity is another attribute of a Power Brain. A creative brain can think flexibly and exhibit imagination freely. It can picture a bright future without collapsing under the burden of reality, even when life is extremely difficult in the moment. Creative people think of solutions when they confront obstacles on the journey toward their goals. Creative brains aren't just important for artists and musicians. Everyone needs a creative brain, and everyone has this capacity. Growth and change are critical parts of life, but they aren't possible without creativity. Albert Einstein famously said, "We can't solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them." In other words, we have to keep our thinking flexible or we'll be stuck in the same place forever. You must be able to imagine yourself as a better person before you can become a better person. We must first be able to imagine a better way of living before we can become a better world. Peacefulness is the third characteristic of a Power Brain, reflecting how and for what the brain is used. This doesn't only mean being free of conflict and worry; it means using the brain for the good of the many– pursuing Hongik. If you use your brain to harm others, yours isn't a Power Brain, no matter how smart it may be. The ability to use our brains peacefully often depends on the kind of information we store in them. A Power Brain contributes to realizing peace by producing bright, positive information.
