The Shadow of Babel: Speaking Jesus to a Language-Challenged World - Softcover

Inhaltsangabe

Silence about Jesus' saving power is not an option! Countless millions of souls daily are condemned to a Christless eternity because Christians hesitate to tell about Jesus. Pastor and missionary Woody Wilson contends that fear of simply opening our mouths is behind this reluctance. Through common sense and practical helps, Wilson encourages followers of Christ to find their voices and personally proclaim the story of Jesus to a sin-sick world. Relying on his rich experiences as a personal witness, a missionary in the challenging setting of France, and a faithful pastor, Wilson employs numerous gripping illustrations to show how believers can spread the salvation story by simply learning to use their voices for the Lord. Each chapter also ends with an immensely practical "Increase Your Word Power" section to embolden and inspire. Despite the difficulties of communicating understandably in a world of diverse languages and cultures-the "shadow" of Babel that the title references-Wilson explains how we can bridge language and cultural barriers and totally rethink our involvement in and commitment to spreading the gospel.
