Throughout her life, Deborah struggled immensely with a seizure disorder that caused her to miss out on many things that others take for granted. After Deborah’s first grand mal seizure she was not able to participate in physical education at school and her play time at home suffered greatly. She began to resent other children for being able to do what she could not. She was limited to making mud pies in the carport, playing school, and jumping rope. Then two doctors and one operation took her life from Mud Pies and Jump Ropesto roller coasters and camping! She has shared her story so that others will see that no matter what your burden there is always hope.

Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor

Deborah Maloney, a retired elementary and special education teacher, lives in Lakeland, Florida, with her husband Tracey. They have been married for more than 25 years. The couple has one adult child and is looking forward to grandchildren someday. She continues to volunteer in the classroom and tutors children after school. Deborah loves working with children and teaching them new and interesting things. She and Tracey enjoy traveling with their camping group, visiting other cities and states, and seeing the sites this country has to offer. When she is not camping, she enjoys drawing, painting, and scrapbooking. Throughout her life she struggled immensely with a seizure disorder that caused her to miss out on many things that others take for granted. She is now motivated to educate those with both physical and mental limitations how she overcame her problem. She hopes that by sharing her story, others will see that there is always hope. Going from Mud Pies and Jump Ropes to roller coasters and camping has truly been a blessing for her. Her favorite adage is one that truly hits home with her past. “When life hands you lemons, don’t just stand there. Make Lemonade!
