Inhaltsangabe

Devin Rhodes is dead. It's my fault.

High school freshman Cass is conflicted about her love/hate relationship with her best friend, Devin, and struggles to handle Devin's sudden death. How did Devin’s body end up at the bottom of Woodacre Ravine? Was Cass really responsible? Is Devin reaching out to her from beyond the grave? Tension mounts as Cass fights to stay a step ahead of the police—and Devin's mother—unable to face the real truth.

Told in alternating "Before" and "After" chapters, this engrossing ghostly coming-of-age tale will draw you in and keep you turning pages until the dramatic conclusion.

Devin Rhodes, my best friend, will be buried in her parents’ garden, two feet beneath the agapanthus, in a green, ceramic umbrella stand. Just her ashes, really, charred little flakes of humanity, which bear no resemblance to her thick, honey curls, faded jeans and shimmering brown lip gloss. She loved flowers when she was alive, and although her mother’s rows of budding shrubs are nothing compared with the lush gardens in Eastland Park—her favorite spot—this patch of moist warm earth seems a fitting, if not odd, and possibly illegal final resting place. Devin died over the weekend. And here’s the thing—it’s my fault.
