The Wild Times takes a trip into the tumult of 70 s America through the eyes of fed-up record exec turned drop-out, Mitchell Hertz. Mitch, age 30, drops acid for the first time while backstage at The Who s Tommy concert in the mythical Midwestern town of Carnegie. Opening to the freedoms of the counterculture, Mitch moves his nominally Jewish family unit off to Los Angeles, following an intense but invisible roadmap to the New World Reality of California, rock n roll culture and the life and death of "The Kids."
