: Brian Ritt grew up in Southern California, stomping ground of Raymond Chandler. From an early age, he developed a love for the culture of earlier eras: black-and-white movies, pulp magazines, vintage paperbacks, old time radio. Throughout his teen years, he pursued an interest in competitive surfing, traveling up and down the California coast. He has written about vintage paperbacks for Paperback Parade, The Paperback Fanatic, and contributed an introduction to Stark House's Orrie Hitt omnibus. Ritt lives in Burbank, California.
