Inhaltsangabe

Five Easy Steps provides classroom teachers with a series of five steps that bring a "balance" to their science instruction and assessments. The goal of the program is to provide opportunities for elementary, middle, and high school science educators to develop the understanding and skills necessary to impact student science learning and achievement.

When students are engaged in a "balance" of science instruction and activities, they can experience success in applying their science skills and reasoning abilities to solve real-life problems requiring scientific thought processes.

"...helps teachers and students focus on learning concepts for understanding. The framework has made an amazing difference in my students' ability to reason, think, and do problem solving effectively."---McKinley Johnson Middle grade science teacher Lake Norman Charter School, Huntersville, NC

"Five Easy Steps to a Balanced Science Program has deepened the understanding of our veteran middle and high school science teachers. Many have said they had not truly understood the structure and processes embedded in their state science standards. The process has fostered a true professional learning community where true collaborative and intellectual discourse became the norm."---Judy Custy Curriculum Coordinator for the Department of Instruction Multnomah Educational Service District, Oregon

"I love science! It's my favorite subject at school and my strongest. Science is a great example of life and people. It's also a great learning experience."---B. J. Weaver Student Jennings Public School System, Missouri
