Sixteen-year-old misfit Mikal Fanan is taken in by Richard, the leader of a gang of neo-Nazi skinheads, and finds his life turned upside down as he tries to belong to the group by committing a series of violent acts and becomes attracted to a young, black activist, Niani Shange, and Richard's shy young girlfriend, Sherry Nicolas.
