Writing standards in the primary grades revolve around the writing process, listening and speaking, and language conventions. This program first involves the integration of picture books from which drawing and writing ideas come. As students learn the Simple 6(tm) components they include them in drawings and then move onto writing. Student writing prompts and assessed anchor papers are included.The Simple 6 (tm) makes writing to test assessment and standards easier because both teacher and student understand the clear language, the order is developmentally progressive, and the scoring is uncomplicated.
