The Bible and the Living Christ: Scripture, Faith and the Saviour - Softcover

Inhaltsangabe

How do the many voices of Scripture lead us to one living Christ? In these seven sermons, Bishop Youannis, Bishop of Gharbia, reads the Bible with the faith and imagination of the Coptic Church. The people, promises and worship of the Old Testament come into focus around the Saviour revealed in the New.

Moving from questions about the Bible's trustworthiness to the Passover, the priesthood, the prophets and the four Gospels, he traces a single story of promise and fulfilment. Christ appears as the true Shepherd, the bread of life, the light of the world and the physician of the soul.

This complete English edition preserves the warmth and directness of the original sermons, with carefully checked biblical quotations and concise explanatory notes. The Bible and the Living Christ invites readers to move beyond isolated passages and discover a deeper unity in Scripture-and a more attentive, prayerful knowledge of Christ Himself.
