Old Warty's Promises: A Humorous Middle School Story for Kids About Classic Books, Friendship & Daydreams (Might Be a Children's Classic) - Softcover

Inhaltsangabe

One squished vegetable. One secret bargain. One social nightmare.

Behind the weathered red-brick walls of Golden Mantella School, beneath the watchful eyes of Old Warty, a classic story is coming to life. In Room F, Miss Prunella Hightone challenges her class to imagine what a story means to them, sparking a vivid daydream for the very beautiful (and, if she does say so herself) Lovy Prentiss. It’s a daydream that begins with fans screaming her name... but ends in total disaster.

Facing the social nightmare of being branded the "Pumpkin Killer," Lovy strikes a secret bargain with Gene Hogg, a boy known for his "caterpillar" eyebrows and a lingering scent of peanut butter. The price of his silence? A high-stakes friend request on social media and a mission to lift Gene’s "mojo."

Lovy must navigate the strict "Prentiss Rules" regarding integrity and the true weight of a promise. In a world of instant notifications, she quickly learns that basketball skills and rookie cards are only the beginning—some lessons are worth far more than a perfect reputation.

"Navigating this story is like trying to fix a broken pumpkin with super glue; it requires a delicate touch."
