‘Beyond Landscape’ By Hans Strand Foreword: By Bruce Percy The images in ‘Beyond Landscape’ represent my true way of making photographs. Since I started photography back in 1981, I have always found pleasure making abstract images of the landscapes in front of me. By excluding horizons, the images immediately become more intimate and take on a more subjective feel. The title for this book, ”Beyond Landscape” refers to this way of making images, where textures and geometry of elements become more important than the location itself. I often talk about the importance of interpretation when I make a photograph. For me a great image should reflect your mind and what you feel rather than what you see. Hans Strand - April 2021
