This volume contains papers presented at the 8th International Architectural Finishes Research Conference held in Amsterdam in 2024. The title of this book reflects the change in the name of the subject of this series of conferences from ‘architectural paint research ’to ‘architectural finishes research’, which was thought better encompasses the wide range of finishes applied to architecture including wallpaper and ‘self-finished’ surfaces. Topics include: the results of research into historical paint schemes; developments in standards for the discipline; finishing materials in the Low Countries; innovative 21st-century techniques; cultural influences; and health and climate awareness.
