Early in the new year, Amanda felt confident that the buildings were ours. She had had a prayer time recently and was confident that the Warner family would want to be part of our dream for Bourne and, when we next meet Philip, he would be more than happy to help us in any way he could.We began to draw up our ‘Short, Medium and Long Term’ plans so we could present them to Philip Warner on our next visit.Alison and I prayed over a map of Bourne and booked an evening meeting on 29 January in The Jeans Café to lay out our vision and dream for Bourne to anyone who might be interested in either intercessory prayer for the project or ministry on the Healing Team.I phoned Philip Warner today to book another appointment with him. We are now booked in to see him on Tuesday 20 January. That is Alison, Amanda and myself to have a chat with him. He said that he would get the keys and show us round the bungalows. He was so really lovely!A church friend expressed her willingness to help in The Healing Rooms during the day on the Healing Team. She was part of The Healing Rooms in Peterborough so she would be a good help for our team. Another couple were happy to help too, both practically and with prayer support. Amanda decided not to come along with me and Alison on the 20th to see Philip Warner as she was having a day with her son and granddaughter. What she did say was ‘It is done, we have it.’ This increased mine and Alison’s eager anticipation.On Tuesday 20 January, we went to visit Philip Warner with regards the bungalows. He offered us coffee on arrival this time. Philip has offered us one of the bungalows FOC, FREE OF CHARGE. We only needed to pay for bills such as electricity, gas, water and phone bills etc. We were on cloud nine! It seemed that Philip was just as excited as us as he wouldn’t stop talking! He planned to draw up a formal agreement so we would all know where we stood and what was expected of us. He did mention that in the lease he would need to refer to the FOC as a ‘Peppercorn rent’. When he said that, I nearly jumped up and gave him a kiss! [Why? Because you remember, three of my friends individually prophesied that this would happen!]Despite the bungalow needing lots of work to get it ready for occupation, we could do it. We would keep in touch over the next two weeks and then get together with Philip after that to sort out all the finer details. He said he had chatted it over with his family during the Christmas period and they were all in agreement with letting us use the bungalow. He even said that it was his wife who had said to him, ‘What have you got to think about Philip; let them have it!’ We told Philip that we were praying God’s favour on him and his business and he replied, ‘Well I don’t want to upset your boss then, do I?’ He was so funny. God is so awesome. We looked forward to the next two weeks and to the time when Philip gives us the key.Shortly after this, I was reading 1 John 5:14-15:‘Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us, and we know that He hears us. Whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.’The truth in His word reminded me of the power of God’s promises over our lives and gave me confidence that they would be fulfilled.
