Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor

Julie Maio Kemper is a curator, Virginia Museum of History and Culture.

Maria Carrillois a consultant and coach after spending 36 years in seven newsrooms. She was enterprise editor at the Tampa Bay Times and Houston Chronicle and a visiting faculty member at the Poynter Institute for Media Studies.

Daniel Morales is co-director of Migration Studies Lab and assistant professor of History, Virginia Commonwealth University. A native of southern California, the son of migrant workers, and the grandson of repatriates and braceros, he writes and speaks on immigration-related issues inside and outside of academia, including for NPR and PBS.

Saltanat Liebert is associate professor, L. Douglas Wilder School of Government and Public Affairs, Virginia Commonwealth University.

Grant E. Rissler is assistant professor of Organizational Studies, School of Professional and Continuing Studies, University of Richmond.

Katrina M. Powell is alumni distinguished professor and founding director of the Center for Refugee, Migrant, and Displacement Studies (CRMDS). She is the author of Performing Autobiography: Narrating a Life as Activism (2021) and Identity and Power in Narratives of Displacement (2015).
