Even more incredible is that it produced 2 of the greatest Scandinavian authors of the twentieth century William Heinesen and Jørgen-Frantz Jacobsen. The twenty-seven texts of The Dedalus Book of Faroese Literature take the reader on a voyage of discovery as they fall under the spell of these windswept islands.

Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor

Malan Marnersdóttir Malan Marnersdóttir was born in Klaksvík in the Faroe Islands in 1952 She studied Nordic languages and French at the universities of Copenhagen, Arhus and Odense before completing her doctorate at the university of Aahus. She was a lecturer and later the Associate Professor of Nordic Literature at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt before returning to the Faroe Islands to take up the chair of Nordic Literature at the University of the Faroe Islands in 2004. She has written extensively on different aspects of Faroese literature and collaborated in the two-volume Faroese Literary History. Mala is the editor of The Dedalus Book of Faroese Literature.
