Inhaltsangabe

The incredible story of sporting icon John Charles, from his childhood in a tough Welsh mining community to superstardom with the Wales national team and Italian soccer royalty Juventus. After a youth apprenticeship with Swansea, John is spotted by a Leeds Utd scout, and helps win them promotion to the first division. He goes on to become a legend in Italy, honoured in their Hall of Fame above legends of world football like Michel Platini, Zinedine Zidane and Diego Maradona. And yet today, most soccer fans outside of Wales, Turin and Yorkshire have never heard his name. This book hopes to go some way towards putting that right. Written in novel format for ages 11+.
