Four’s a crowd.

With the help of San Lang, the mysterious red-clad youth, Xie Lian has finally established a shrine dedicated to the Crown Prince Who Pleased the Gods. But before the paint has dried on the divine portrait, news arrives of deaths and disappearances on the road through the long-fallen Kingdom of Banyue, and Ling Wen advises Xie Lian not to investigate―or at least to do so discreetly.

To uncover the culprit, Xie Lian must travel to a land haunted by old resentment and dangerous magic, and he’ll once again need to rely on junior heavenly officials Fu Yao and Nan Feng. But the two junior officials are suspicious of Xie Lian’s new companion and are determined to prove that San Lang is not who―or what―he seems to be.

Volume 3 includes episodes 28-38 of the original webcomic based on the webnovel Tian Guan Ci Fu published on JJWXC.
