Here the evidence from the earliest sources for his existence is presented in a clear and simple format, and combined with an historical framework for his life and achievements. Of necessity relying in part upon a level of informed speculation, this work makes no claim to have answered every question. But the author hopes that it will stimulate discussion on post-Roman British history and Arthur’s part in it. Amongst numerous other topics, new light is thrown on his childhood circumstances and the reasons for his tragic end.
