The Passion Gene is the first novel from Louis de Savy and tells how united by common professional interests, a shared love of culture plus irresistible emotional and physical attraction, a couple become lovers. As they are swept away in an increasingly powerful tide of love and desire, their illicit life together is almost too good to be true. After years of writing about advances in medical science in journal articles and books, Louis de Savy decided in retirement, by way of contrast, to direct his pen to fiction and to explore a subject which has long fascinated him - the hidden destinies imposed upon us by our genes. The Passion Gene is his first novel.

Louis de Savy (a nom de plume) hails from an Anglo-French family steeped in medicine and politics. He read medical science in London and climbed the professional ladder to hospital consultancy status, his career taking him to many places in the world and bringing him into contact with overseas colleagues who helped him to form a wider perspective on health care issues. During his career he was dismayed to watch the NHS being used by successive governments as a political football, each senselessly undoing the policies of the previous one. After years of writing about advances in medical science in journal articles and books, he decided in retirement, by way of contrast, to direct his pen to fiction and to explore a subject which has long fascinated him – the hidden destinies imposed upon us by our genes. The Passion Gene is his first novel.
