Inhaltsangabe

[English]
For AS and A2 examinations from 2009.

A CD containing all the tracks needed to tackle these tests is available separately.

The AQA AS/A2 Music Listening Tests has been written by an AQA examiner and experienced music teacher. The book contains a series of practice questions and model answers that fully correspond with the new AQA specifications for AS and A2 music. The questions take in a large variety of musical styles and listening skills. Some have been carefully constructed to give students practice at one particular type of listening skill that they might find especially difficult, while other questions are more balanced in their approach.

This book has been considerably revised and expanded from the previous edition. Aside from a whole new set of questions, based on different excerpts of music, this book also contains new advice for students on how to improve their listening skills, and new advice for teachers on how to mark listening tests.

The questions will test students knowledge and listening skills for the listening element in AQA AS Music Unit 1: Influences on Music and A2 Music Unit 4: Music in Context. It can be used for coursework or for revision to help students prepare in the final weeks before the exam.

The book can be used in a variety of different ways; to help structure a group lesson in which everyone works through the questions together, to provide material for a mock exam, and for students to work through alone. The advice and practice questions in this book will fully prepare students for any demands that the listening section of the AQA exam makes.

Candidates are able to practice working with the musical language and applying their knowledge to music drawn from a range of periods in music history.
