Inhaltsangabe

The Helford is a mid-sized estuary by Cornish standards and is easily explored in a day from a motor boat. Its sunny south-facing banks are home to the famous subtropical gardens at Trebah and Glendurgan and to a succession of small, secretive coves. They are typical South Cornwall, beaches, wonderful out-of-the-way places to stop, picnic and swim. In the summer, the Helford's lower reaches are busy with the comings and goings of ferries, yachts and fishing boats. The creeks on the upper reaches are very different; here the steep wooded banks shut out the world, they are intense, hushed and introverted places. Although there are only a few places where you can walk by the estuary up here – at Frenchman's Creek, Tremayne Quay and Scott's Quay – it's striking that they would all feature on a list of Cornwall's finest walks.
