Nick Dakin has had over 30 years of experience in keeping fish of all kinds. Today he runs his own aquatic consultancy, writing, broadcasting and lecturing on marine husbandry as well as continuing to be a keen hobbyist. His observational and practical skills have rewarded him with great success in keeping and breeding marine fish and invertebrates. He has become a proficient aquatic photographer and uses his pictures to illustrate lectures on marine husbandry. His photographs have also been published in books and magazines across the world. A prolific writer, he has contributed to many fishkeeping and wildlife magazines on a regular basis over the past 14 years. He has also answered literally thousands of marine fishkeeping questions from enthusiastic hobbyists in his regular monthly Marine Answers column in the UK magazine Practical Fishkeeping. His Book of the Marine Aquarium (1992) was received to great critical acclaim by the fishkeeping press, pet traders, clubs, societies, individual aquarists and other respected fish-keeping authorities. Nick's breeding programmes and research into marine husbandry and associated equipment have contributed much to the general knowledge and success of the hobby in recent years. All this has gained him much respect and high profile within the fishkeeping fraternity.
