This memoir tells the story of one of the earliest aviators, Don Robertson. This work is divided into three parts: the first air mail flying in Northern Canada before World War II (where there was no radio and no weather forecasting); flying off aircraft carriers protecting naval convoys, and at Vickers Supermarine test floying Spitfires and Seafires; and test piloting new RAF aeroplanes up to the jet-propelled Meteor at Boscombe Down. Don Robertson is the author of "Those Flying Machines" and "Restless Spirit".
