 
    In Jonathan’s mind, turning ten means he’s all grown up! Grownup for a Week is part of a new series that feature children whose sibling or parent has been diagnosed with a mental illness. Grownup for a Week follows 10 year old Jonathan on an adventure to prove he is a grownup after he learns his mother has been diagnosed with Schizophrenia. Each book in the Mental Illness Awareness series will focus on a specific mental disorder. The primary goal of these books are not to teach or relay the symptoms of these mental disorders, but to examine how the main characters react with a family member having a mental illness, and how they finally come to terms with this significant change. This series aims to help children who are dealing with mental illness find solace, learn that each person's response is unique, understand the importance of finding ways to cope with the change brought about in their lives, and learn that it is all right to find it challenging and meet some obstacles along the way.
