Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor

THE REVEREND DR. DALE TURNER, who began his career as a minister in Michigan in 1943, never stepped inside a church until he was 18. His parents were of different denominations – Catholic and Protestant – and so solved this dilemma by not going to church.

Dr. Turner attended West Virginia Wesleyan, a Methodist College, because of its athletic program – he had intended to become a high school football coach. Upon graduating, he had a choice between two graduate school scholarships – one for a master’s degree in physical education at Columbia University, and the other, which he accepted, to Yale Divinity School.

Dr. Turner spent 10 years in Lawrence, Kansas, teaching at the University of Kansas and preaching at the Plymouth Congregational Church. He moved to Seattle in 1958 to lead the University Congregational Church. He retired in 1982 and began writing a weekly column for the Religion page of the Seattle Times, which he still writes today. About his work, Dr. Turner states, "Writing my weekly column has given me the opportunity to share insights, inspirations, suggestions, and my own questions in a cycle of continual wonder, gratefulness, and joy."

Dr. Turner is the author of four books, all published by High Tide Press West. He lives in Seattle with his wife of 50 years, Leone. They have four sons, three daughters-in-law, six grandsons, and two granddaughters.
