Alan Byrd has been an avid spring training fan for 30 years ever since he was in third grade. He was an award-winning reporter for the "Orlando Business Journal" for nearly 10 years, covering sports business, tourism, and transportation. He is currently its director of circulation and marketing. He lives in central Florida with his wife and family.
