When, in 2000, well-known Crewe photographer Gordon Davies dipped into his huge archive of photographs to produce Memory Lane Crewe, even he couldn't have dreamed of the response. This book sold out almost immediately and was reprinted several times. The following year, such was the Crewe public's insatiable hunger for the past, that a second volume was published. Again the response was overwhelming and the book sold out once more while sales of the first volume kept pace.
