Set in Kent and featuring an ex-army officer as the main protagonist, Inheritance tells the story of David Holden, who receives news of his father's bequest of several properties on the Isle of Thanet. When Holden makes the discovery of contraband stashed in secret rooms in these properties he begins to wonder about his father's involvement in the underworld of smuggling. But who else is involved? As Holden delves deeper into the mysteries surrounding his inheritance he renews old friendships, meets a charming woman and faces mortal danger.
