Peter Ratcliffe DCM is an author and former Regimental Sergeant Major with the Special Air Service (SAS). He has been deployed in a number of operations including in Oman, the Falklands and Iraq and served with the SAS for 25 years.

This is a balanced, truthful and long-overdue account of the SAS in action and out of it, by a decorated soldier uniquely fitted, both by character and by his senior position in the regiment, to tell of events as they really happened - earthy, dramatic, often extremely funny, occasionally disturbing, and always intensely interesting.
