Does the Universe need a Creator? This book examines the question of the possible origins of the Universe from the viewpoints of both science and religion. It argues that a scientific explanation for the beginning does not destroy belief in God. Wilkinson describes in popular terms the discoveries of modern cosmology. He welcomes much of Hawking's account, which he helpfully summarises, but considers that the scientific story does not take in all the facts. This is a substantially revised and updated version of the author's God, the Big Bang and Stephen Hawking.

Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor

The Rev. Dr David Wilkinson has a PhD in Theoretical Astrophysics and is a Fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society. He is a Methodist minister and Fellow in Apologetics at St John's College, Durham. He is also author of Alone in the Universe?, A Holiness of the Heart and (with Rob Frost) of Thinking Clearly about God and Science. In July he is the keynote speaker at the World Methodist Congress, held in Brighton.
