This authoritative guide to the rules and regulations governing solicitors has been comprehensively updated to take account of all of the recent developments in this area, including changes to the Solicitors' Code of Conduct and the Solicitors' Accounts Rules. "The Solicitor's Handbook 2009" provides expert commentary on the practical reality of the regulatory and disciplinary environment in which solicitors operate, and discusses all of the relevant decided cases in the field. There is also a comprehensive range of supporting materials including the text of the latest versions of the Solicitors' Code of Conduct 2007 and the Solicitors' Accounts Rules 1998, including the Reporting Accountant's Report Form as revised in May 2009. The 2009 Edition also includes: SRA Recognised Bodies Regulations 2009 (31 March 2009); Solicitors' Financial Services (Scope) Rules 2001 (revised 31 March 2009); SRA Warning Cards (May 2009); Law Society's Anti-Money Laundering Practice Note; and Legal Services Act 2007 (extracts). This invaluable resource can assist practitioners in maintaining high professional standards and enabling them to identify and deal with regulatory and disciplinary issues before they develop into loss for clients and others, damage to reputation, and regulatory interest.
