This two-volume set constitutes the post-proceedings of Symposium 96, held in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany, from 25-29 March 1996. It marks the final event of EUROTRAC, the joint European environmental project, set up under the EUREKA initiative to monitor the impact of human activities on the troposphere over Europe. The development and expansion of new and existing products and technologies has invariably brought detriment to the environment. Damage to forests, the decline of fish stocks and the destruction of the ozone layer in the stratosphere, are all victims of air pollution. These volumes are a collection of papers presented by leading scientists and researchers active in the implementation of control strategies and environmental abatement in Europe. Thus, each paper within the book contributes in some way to the aims and objectives of the initiative - the preservation of the environment on an international scale. Presented within 2 volumes to accommodate approximately 300 papers, these books encompass papers on field and laboratory measurements, instrument development, biosphere/atmosphere exchange and computer modelling of the troposphere, and many more.
