In 1987, Jane Plant developed breast cancer. It recurred four times over the next six years. Finally, she took control of the disease and her life. She has also helped 65 other women to do likewise. This is her story - a story which offers hope and advice on prevention and treatment to many others.

Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor
Professor Jane Plant, geboren 1945, gilt als eine der angesehensten Wissenschaftlerinnen Englands. Sie studierte an den Universitäten von Liverpool und Leicester Geologie und Geochemie und wirkte seit 1967 in verschiedenen wissenschaftlichen Organisationen mit. 1999 wurde sie Direktorin des British Geological Survey. Im gleichen Jahr erhielt sie den renommierten Lord Lloyd of Kilgerran Preis. Sie ist Direktorin des National Environment Research Council, Gastprofessorin an der Universität von Liverpool und Professorin an der Universität von Nottingham, wo sie mit ihrem Mann und ihren beiden Kindern lebt.
