This catalogue was deaccessioned from the Russell-Cotes Museum in Bournemouth and bears their neatly printed stamp on the half-title. The title page also has a small blind embossed stamp of Bourne. 88pp. Frontispiece portrait of Mayne and many black and white photographs. This catalogue was produced to accompany the exhibition of photographs by Roger Mayne held in the Henry Cole wing of the Victoria and Albert Museum, London from 26 February to 31 May, 1986. Between 1956-61 Roger Mayne (1929-2014) photographed extensively in North Kensington around Notting Hill and Ladbroke Grove. This book is centred around Maynes photographs of life in Southam Street, London W10, a street that was declared unfit for human habitation in 1963 and was largely demolished by 1969.
