Benjamin Constable was born in Bristol and grew up mostly in Derby. As a child he had difficulty with literacy and didn't start reading or writing until in his 20s. He worked as a recording artist and studio engineer for several years and at 32 he studied for a degree in creative writing. He now lives in Paris where he writes fiction, teaches English and invents copy for an advertising agency. Three Lives of Tomomi Ishikawa is his first novel.
