Michael Heatley edited the acclaimed History of Rock partwork (1981–84). He is the author of over 50 music biographies, ranging from Bon Jovi to Rolf Harris, as well as books on sport and TV. He has penned liner notes to more than 100 CD reissues, and written for magazines including Music Week, Billboard, Goldmine, Radio Times and the Mail on Sunday colour supplement.

Alan Kinsman is a musician and author who has written sleeve notes for many prestigious album releases from the 1980s to the present. He has also contributed to a number of music and history-related books.

Ronan Macdonald has worked as a technical music journalist since 1989.
