He is the author of numerous history books, including Jerusalem: The Biography and Catherine the Great & Potemkin, as well as the award-winning Stalin: The Court of the Red Tsar and Young Stalin. His books are published in 40 languages. He lives in London with his wife, the novelist Santa Montefiore, and their two children.
