The Silverstone 6-Hour and 1000km races became a cornerstone of this championship and the event was often used by the teams as a warm-up to the all important Le Mans 24-Hour race, which followed it on the calendar. This book charts the progress of the races, year-by-year from 1976, through the era of the Group C cars, up to the end of the eighties, with previously unpublished accounts and photographs of each event

Über die Autorinnen und Autoren

Chas Parker has written a number of books about motorsport, including Haynes Manuals for the D-type Jaguar and Bugatti Type 35 and others. He was short-listed, together with co-author Philip Porter, for the 2017 RAC Motoring Book of the Year Award for his book on the 1953 Le Mans-winning C-type Jaguar.



Chas Parker’s experience of motorsport publishing includes roles as a sub-editor and occasional contributor to Autosport and Motorsport News, Britain’s leading motorsport weeklies. He has written several motorsport books, including Haynes's Brands Hatch: The history of Britain’s best-loved motor racing circuit and Silverstone: The home of British motor racing, plus Jaguar D-type, Bugatti Type 35 and Lola T70 Manuals. He lives in East Sussex.
