A Moorish prince and a beautiful princess...a magic horse and a dusty rug...a dove, an owl and a parrot. Inspired by the wise, witty language of birds, a poetic young man journeys over the high mountains and triumphs in a tournament using ancient magic but can he find happiness in his quest for love? Amanda Hall's sparkling Moorish fantasy has been adapted from a story written by Washington Irving.
Amanda Hall studied graphic art and illustration at Cambridge School of Art. Brimming with colour, decoration and fantasy creatures, her drawings are created by a technique that combines pencil crayon and watercolour ink. The inspiration for Amanda’s work comes from cultures all over the world, including the roots of myths, legends and fairy tales which are part of the powerful historical inheritance of North and South America, Europe, Africa and India. Although her main focus is illustration, she also sometimes writes children’s books. Amanda's books include Robi Dobi, by Madhur Jaffery, which won the U.S. Parents' Choice Silver Award in 1997, The Storytelling Star/i> and The Barefoot Book of Stories from the Sea by James Riordan and Our Favourite Stories by Jamila Gavin.
