AQA GCSE Leisure & Tourism provides
comprehensive and highly accessible coverage
of the three compulsory units that make up the
AQA Double Award GCSE in Leisure and Tourism.

The book is divided into three topics: The leisure
and tourism industries, Marketing leisure and
tourismand Customer service in leisure and
tourism. Topic 1 provides the key knowledge and
understanding needed for the unit 1 examination, as
well as helping build the appropriate skills, including
description, explanation, analysis and evaluation.
Topics 2 and 3 cover coursework and are intended
to assess student learning of the relevant study areas.


This textbook provides the information students will
need to help build the knowledge, understanding and
skills necessary to complete their coursework.

A wide range of case studies are featured throughout
the book. They include facilities, organisations and
destinations from major players to the small to
medium-sized enterprises that are so important to
the leisure and tourism industries. The case studies
provide a base of learning from which students can
launch their own investigations for the two course-
work units.


At the end of each chapter, and within many of them,
menus of activities are presented in three columns,
to support work towards each of the three assessment
objectives.
Practical scenarios also feature in each topic. These
are extended practical activities that guide students to
research real leisure and tourism industry organisations
and places. They build learning for the examination
and act as platforms underpinning more detailed
investigation for coursework units.
