In 1947 the US LONDON label was created to release British Decca productions. A year later the label began to release recordings by US artists, and in 1949 the first batch of these American records were made available in the UK on the new LONDON-AMERICAN label. The first volume of The London-American Legend charts the progress of the label up to its most successful year - 1961.
