Since visiting Italy, he has been inspired by the frescoes of Veronese in the Villa Barbaro at Maser. His dream, although practically unrealistic, has finally been realised in this beautiful book. Basing his idea on an 18th century house designed by Sir William Chambers and later extended, he adorns every room with his truly wonderful and imaginative paintings. From the attic to the basement, via bedrooms, dining rooms, hallways and stairs. Designs from the classical to the contemporary, from the East to the West, botanical and zoological, all are encompassed under one roof, giving each room an intensely individual feel.
