19th century Rangers protected their neighbours from Indian attack, fought and died in a war for freedom, and staved off foreign invasion. Their later adversaries included hardened criminals such as John Wesley Hardin and Bonnie and Clyde. Today the Rangers are a modern organisation and represent the elite of Texas law enforcement.
Biografía del autor:
Dr Stephen L Hardin is a senior research fellow for the Texas State Historical Association in Austen, Texas, and the author of numerous scholarly articles on the history of his state. Richard Hook is one of the world's greatest military illustrators and has contributed to more than 30 Osprey titles. He is also an authority on the native peoples of North America, a subject for which he has had a life-long passion.
