The major goal of the investigation discuss in this book is to develop and create a machine, system, or instrument that is both cost effective and capable of predicting the usable remaining life of a specific engine oil while also having the following characteristics: It should be able to measure changes in oil quality in terms of changes in parameters viz., conductivity (impedance, permittivity, and dielectric constant), transmittance and color which are an indirect method(s) to quantify change in viscosity with the required level of accuracy.
