The author has examined various topics about the management practices of the Prophet Muhammad [PBUH]. Sixteen areas have been discussed. Motivation, decision making, information management, strategic management, financial management, risk assessment, change management, project management, human resource management, crisis management, not-for-profit marketing, innovation, managerial ethics, negotiation, planning and resistance to change. These aspects have been taken from eight case studies: the expedition of Hijrah, the battles of Badr, the battle of Uhadh, the battle of Trench, the treaty of Hodhabia, the conquest of Makkah, the battle of Hunain and the expedition of Tabuk. Each of the case studies is associated with some areas. Therefore, they have been chosen for inclusion in the book. We understand that some of the case studies are related with the security matters while some of them are non-military in nature. They encounter similar issues, but some aspects are unique in a case. For example, information management has been an issue in all of them, but we have included the one in which it was dealt innovatively. Similarly, strategic management, and motivation was dealt in more than one case studies but choice was made to subsume it in the book.
