Über die Autorinnen und Autoren
Alex Egerton, periodista de oficio, ha trabajado para revistas, diarios y otros medios en cinco continentes. Cuando se hartó del aire viciado de las salas de prensa y de la sed insaciable de noticias baladíes, huyó de la rutina poniéndose a escribir sobre viajes. Es autor de guías Loenly Planet y pasa casi todo el tiempo en el terreno, mirando bajo el colchón, catando dudosa comida callejera y charlando con lugareños en su investigación para artículos y guías de viajes. Amante de la aventura, ha cruzado a pie remotas selvas colombianas, explorado recónditos afluentes del Mekong y participado en el primer descenso en kayak por una serie de apartados cursos de agua en Nicaragua. Cuando no viaja está en su casa en medio del esplendor colonial de Popayán, en el sur de Colombia.
Como escritor y fotógrafo que es, Paul Harding ha pasado gran parte de las últimas dos décadas viajando por el mundo. Le interesan los lugares más remotos y menos convencionales, las islas y las diferentes culturas. Paul ha colaborado hasta la fecha en más de 50 guías Lonely Planet de países y regiones tan diversos como India, Islandia, Belice, Vanuatu, Irán, Indonesia, Nueva Zelanda, Finlandia, Filipinas y su país natal: Australia.
Como escritor para Lonely Planet, Daniel C. Schechter ha trabajado en, como mínimo, 15 guías, sobretodo México y la América Latina pero también España y Países Bajos. También es traductor de español al inglés de libros, textos de exhibiciones museísticas y numerosos artículos para revistas. Nativo de Brooklyn, comenzó a viajar de muy joven y vivió durante largos periodos en Colombia, Portugal, España, Puerto Rico y México. Antes de convertirse en autor de Lonely Planet trabajó como editor de prensa y profesor de inglés durante ocho años. Como ávido ciclista escogió los Países Bajos como hogar en 2010.
