The Baked Bean Company and I wrote the following play working very closely with the pictures from the book The Drama Group. Using the original pictures as a storyboard was not only helpful but inspiring, and a great reminder to the actors of the story we were trying to tell and where we were in it at any given point. Dean goes to the theatre with his family. He enjoys it so much, his friend James encourages him to visit a drama group. He's very nervous and finds it hard to join in at first. You can be an actor, or take on a backstage role - like painting the scenery, lighting, make-up, or stage management.
