On The Buses was a classic British situation comedy, created by Ronald Wolfe and Rnald Chesney, which ran for seven series from 1969 to 1973, and introduced a host of much-loved memorable characters. The series followed the ups and downs of life "on the buses" as portrayed by two work-shy busmen, Stan Butcher (played by Reg Varney) and his long-suffering boss, inspector Cyril "Blakey" Blake (Stephen Lewis).
